The Concierge Desk situated on the tenth floor of Melbourne Central is a result of our collaboration with BVN architects. The desk itself has over 1600 components uniquely sequenced to form a seamless undulated surface that in part becomes seating and in part a desk and ceiling. Power to Make developed all the parametric tools, including a bespoke user interface that allowed the design team to play in. Once the final design was adjusted to suit the site, all the profile shapes and dowel hole locations was generated from a script which allowed for last minute changes to the geometry. The entire system took just under 30 hours to assemble.
